Group Dance Classes

Wedding Reception Survival Level 1 - Learn the basics of Waltz, Single-time Swing, and Foxtrot - the approach is fun and simple, the steps are easy to learn, and as with all of our classes, you get to stay with your own partner for the entire class.

If you have enough time (I know, planning a wedding is hectic!), combine this class with a few private lessons to zero in on your first dance, and you'll be ready to go! Float around the dance floor with your sweetheart to classics by Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Harry Connick, Jr., just to name a few. (Looking for a song for your first dance? Go to my suggestions page.) Class size is limited to ten couples, so sign up early!
  • Starting July 9th, 2008:  Wednesdays 7:30pm - 8:30pm,   July 9 - July 30
  • Starting August 6th, 2008:  Wednesdays 7:30pm - 8:30pm,   August 6 - August 27   (Last Level 1 class until January)

  • Cost: $110.00 per couple for one four-week series

Wedding Reception Survival Level 2 - Review and fine tune the basics learned in the Level 1 class, and add some new moves to your dance repertoire. Plan ahead so you can take this class! (Prerequisite: Wedding Reception Survival Level 1)

Private Dance Lessons

I offer private dance lessons to help you work on your first dance. It can be as choreographed or as spontaneous as you like. I also offer private group dance lessons if you want to bring your wedding party and future in-laws along!
  • When: Please call to schedule, (206) 522-0413
  • Where: Civetta Dance Space , 124 N 103rd Street, Seattle, WA
  • Cost: $70.00 for one couple (55 minute session). Add an additional $10 per person up to ten people. For larger groups, rates vary.

Registration Details

Group Dance Classes
Pre-registration is a very good idea for group classes, because class size is limited. To pre-register, fill out the registration form, print it out and send it with a check to hold your spot in class. Please contact me at (206) 522-0413 or angela@ourfirstdance.com to be sure there is still room available. You may also contact me and I will send you a registration form in the mail.

Registering at the Class
To register on the first night of class, show up at least 10 minutes early to fill out the registration form. Please call to make sure there is still room.

Forms of payment
I accept money orders, personal checks and cash. Please do not send cash in the mail.

Cancellation Policy
Canceling a group class: If canceling before the first night of class, you will receive a full refund. If canceling after the first night of class, no refunds will be issued. Canceling a private lesson: At least 24 hours notice by phone is requested to cancel a private lesson. If 24 hours notice is not given, the full lesson fee is due within one week of scheduled lesson time.
